Sarah Willes

Trustee and Founder of Blues in Schools
Sarah completed her Cordon Bleu diploma in 1971 and worked in a wide range of jobs from teaching at the Cordon Bleu School to cooking director’s lunches for Sir James Goldsmith. After setting up Blues in 1978 she went on to write cookery books and took on the role of governor at Gibbs Green School. She then founded the charity Blues in Schools, which runs regular cooking classes for children with learning and behaviour problems. Sarah continues to be actively involved in the running of Blues liaising with the cookery schools and advising students on how to prepare for the future.
Cathy Synan
Director and Payroll Coordinator
Cathy previously worked in recruitment in Australia before she joined Blues in 1989. Since then she has built an invaluable rapport between staff and clients. In 1998 she was appointed a Director. Her responsibilities include co-coordinating our staff payroll, managing the accounts and placing staff. Cathy is also actively involved in Blues staff training.
Davina Mulford
Office Manager
Davina trained at Leith’s School of Food and Wine in 2002. Davina's experience includes working at Rick Stein’s Seafood Restaurant, and as Head Chef at Westminster Cathedral Choir School, and Sugar and Spice catering company. Davina joined Blues in 2007 and her key responsibilities include placing cooks and waiting staff in positions in London, the country and abroad.
Caroline Richards
Senior Recruitment Consultant
Caroline graduated from Newcastle in 2002, and spent five years working in London including three years recruiting support staff for investment banks. In 2007 she completed a cookery course before spending a year undertaking private assisting and cooking jobs. Caroline joined Blues in 2009 and her key responsibilities include placing cooks and waiting staff in positions in London.
Annabel Graham-Wood
Junior recruitment consultant
Annabel graduated from Newcastle University in 2007. After completing a cookery course, she moved to London and worked in the kitchen at Mr Christian's delicatessen in Notting Hill, and then for private equity firm Accel Partners in St James, before joining Blues in 2010. Her main responsibilities include interviewing candidates and assisting Davina and Caroline with the temporary bookings.
Rosie McArthy
Blues In Schools Coordinator
Rosie graduated from Durham in 2004 and then completed the Ballymaloe Cookery Course. She spent several years cooking before returning to Ballymaloe as a teacher. She is currently studying nutrition. Rosie’s responsibilities are supporting the Blues team and running the regular cookery classes for Blues In Schools
